We’ve decided to add a few recipes for desserts on the page in the menu above. We have sourced these recipes and used them from various places including (but not limited to) Diabetes.org.uk, Ezcookingonline.com, BBC, magazines, and word of mouth along with our own ‘known’ recipes. I’ve decided to start with just a dessert and cake recipe page, as these are things most people don’t associate with diabetes. As the recipes will show sugar is used in many of them. Personally I prefer to use where possible an alternative to sugar such as splenda – which although the end product doesn’t perhaps keep as well as when baked with sugar, the sugar content is physically reduced prior to cooking.
I would welcome any recipes that are classed as ‘reduced sugar, diabetic, low sugar’ for publication on the recipe page (credit can be given under the recipe), just head over to my recipe submission form.
Also I’ve added a new tune of the week, courtesy of spotify! Each week I aim to change it (health permitting), it is located in the right hand column of the page!
